Kensington palace

Up early this morning and off to meet up with Gabriella's friend Koorina  who moved to England over 30 years ago. Once all the pleasantries were out of the way it was off to Saatchi gallery in Chelsea, as it didn't open until 10am it was into the cafe and Gab & Koorina were off on memory lane reminiscing.

The Saatchi gallery was interesting with a major focus 🤳 selfies. One entire room was dedicated to FaceTime with thousands of images being screened in the walls. Al you could hear was people chatting and their images portrayed in all the walls.

After the gallery it was on the 452 bus to Kensington palace. Now how freeky is this, we hadn't planned to go to the palace today, and it turned out to be Diana's 20 anniversary of her passing. As much as there was a lot of people at the gates where the flowers had been laid, l think everyone I cluding the media expected a lot more people to attend.

We headed inside the palace with our own local tour guide. As much as these buildings look grand from the outside, they're have a very sombre feeling as you walk through the rooms.

They had Diana's dresses that she had worn on display but funnaly enough they actually didn't look all that nice until you looked at the photos of her wearing them. It wasn't the dress that made Diana, but Diana making the dress look good. She really was a good sort.

It was then off to lunch. Koorina knew of a couple of local pubs that she use to visit when she lived on this side of town so we headed of on foot to find them. The first one was the Churchill which is a lovely pub but unfortunately it only served Thai food so it was on to the next one. The Hill gate which is just on the boarder of Notting Hill. These pubs have a great feel to them so it order the food and have a few pints and sit and talk for several hours.

Out of the pub and on the bus to Harrod. Well as much as the history of the building is what you do to see, it's just another building that outsiders choose to destroy inside. It has that look of wealth but feel of Myers, ok David Jones. Tick it of the bucket list.

During our walks and beers, Koorina told us to head to Royal Albert Hall just to see the inside. She looked up the website to see who was playing their and tomorrow we're going to see Jools Holland along with Booker T, Steve Cropper, James Morrison & the legendary Sir Tom Jones perform. All for a fee of £40.
