Barcelona here we come

A bit of a late start this morning as we only needed to catch the train to Charles da Gaul airport and sit and wait for our flight.
They actually named a station after me.

Then it was wait for the plane.

Back to the Louvre

We headed back to the Louvre today so we could view the Mona Lisa. Gabriella did some research into how to enter the Louvre from the backdoor. A friend told us that there was an entrance via the carousel which was underground. So off we went looking to find this short cut. Low and behold it was there and no queuing as stated.
Got the tickets and off we went to find old Mona. Now l tried to sneak in a selfie and had this crazy woman jump into the shot.🤣

This museum is huge, artwork everywhere you turn, l'm sure we missed things but the  sheer size of the museum can't be explained, it's a bit like you have to be here to appriate it.
Finally found Mona and made it to the front of the crowd.

I got told off by the gaurd because I had my 🤳 selfie stick out to get a closer photo. And that was the selfie  stick l'm talking about.

Anyway got photos without getting ushered out.

Thought l'd take a few photos of other art works.

Well time to get out off the museum as there's so many people in this building.

I had to put one photo up of how people sit outside cafe's and bars. They all face the roadway.

Next stop was Montmartre but first we had to climb the stairs.

Shit more stairs.

Enough of the churches and down the hill to the Moulin Rouge.

And some old slapper auditioning for a role on stage. Maybe at one of the girlie bars down the road.

The Palace of Versailles

Today we went to Versaille. This was going to be a bit of a challenge as we hadn't been on the Metro rail. Firstly we needed a ticket and up unlike London where you had a card, in Paris they have something that resembles an old met ticket.

Anyway we managed to get the tickets and on a train to Versaille. Didn't seem that hard and only took about 45 min to get to the palace.

18€ to get in and well worth it.
You can see who had all the wealth back in the days. The lucky staff and other dignatories actually got to sit, watch and comment on the king eat meals with his family. (Wanker)

Looks like something has gone wrong with blogger page, unable to get the photos to upload.

And then we came across this stunning looking fella.

Eiffel Tower

Instead of heading out to Versaille today we decided to do the Eiffel Tower and cruise on the Seine River.

More photos on our walk.

Sometimes it just pays to get a cab. No, not Gab and l, we walked, and walked all the way there.
But we did go to the Champs Elysees, doesn't look far in the photo, but it was all up hill. Normally it would be me complaining about how far it was, but today it was Gab.

Then we walked more, and more.

Are we there yet. Still doesn't look that far.

Finally.
Poor Gab is holding onto a pole as the traffic is busy and we're on a centre median strip.

Off on our continued journey to find the Eiffel Tower.

Did we go up, no. Happy to look from below, but it was quite impressive, l thought it may have been smaller.

After walking all that way, we jumped on a ferry and did a 1 hr cruise on the Seine. Worst part of that, was we still had to get back to our apartment.

Another long walk, about 6 klm. The best part is we got to see more of the back streets thanks to google maps. Just added more klms to our already long walk.

We did stop for coffee and some pattiseries.

Finally made it back to our apartment after walking a total of 20+ klms for the day.

Now when you' re  in the city of romance, you would think that you may get lucky. But after a long walk, it would probably be hard to get up. Did l miss 'it' in the last sentence.
